At 24option we strive to make trading binary options as easy as possible for everyone. Here are some frequently asked questions that will give you all the information you need on the market. If you don’t find an answer to your question below, please contact us and we will assist you immediately.
A binary option is a financial opportunity that offers investors a fixed price and a fixed return. Binary options are also known as Fixed or Digital options and are traded only on the internet.
If the option expires “in the money”, the option you invested in will always earn a fixed amount of money for you. At 24option you can earn up to 89% of your total investment amount when options expire “in the money”. For example, on a $500 investment you will receive a $945 return.
Underlying assets are all assets being traded on the market, such as stocks, indices, commodities and forex currency pairs. The constantly changing market value of those assets is the basis for binary options trading. 24options offers a variety of underlying assets for trading. For the full list of assets please visit our Asset Table.
24option offers four types of binary options:
- One Touch
- 60 second options
For further information on trading with these types of binary options, please see the binary options strategy page.
Every option has its target price. A target price is decided by the broker according to certain pricing updates and market movements. 24option presents its target prices at which it is willing to sell the option. Investors can buy an option on both sides of the purchase price (high or low) according to what they believe the future price will be.
An expiry time is the exact date and time where an option expires and is no longer tradable. The expiry time for each option is visualized on the trading platform and is adjusted to the investor’s time zone.
At 24option you can close an option before it reaches its expiry time, whether it is high or low. Closing purchased options prior to their announced expiry time is available only on some options. For more details on how to close options and understanding the benefits of this method, please see our binary trading sector.
Every option has its own expiry level which marks the level of the underlying asset once the option is expired. An expiry level can be “in the money” (profitable) or “out of the money” (not profitable). Each traded asset has its own expiry levels.
When expiring “in the money” your option has acted as you predicted and has gained the return on your initial investment. An option expiring “out of the money” is an option that hasn’t reached its target price and as a result you lose your investment. For example, an option expiring “in the money” would be a high option expiring above the target price, or a low option closing below its target price.
An option closing “out of the money” is an option that hasn’t fulfilled your expectations of the market.
If an option you invested in is closing at its exact target price, it is considered to be a “in the money” expiry. Moreover, in this case you will gain 100% of the initial investment you made.
An investment amount is the amount of money invested by you in an option.
Yes. At 24option there is a $24 minimum investment amount per option requirement. The amount of the minimum investment price changes between countries and currencies.
The maximum investment amount for a single High/Low option is 50,000 USD/GBP/EUR. The maximum investment amount for other options is $10,000. This amount varies between countries and for different currencies.
Purchasing options is not limited and you can purchase as many options as you like. However, there is a limitation on the total value of your open options and it is $40,000 at all times. This limited amount changes between countries and currencies.

Trade Signals for binary options is a tool that delivers a recommendation to trade on a specific binary option. It gives you the following information:
- Direction of the trade: CALL or PUT
- Asset to trade
- Standardized expiry rate
Traders can use this information to make investments, or can incorporate Signals into their own technical analysis and trading strategies.
Trade signals are created by Faunus algorithmic trading models. These models constantly monitor more than 200 live assets and select the optimal assets for trading. Faunus algorithms use the latest statistical and data mining technologies. There is very little human involvement in the data gathering process. All data is adjusted automatically by computers. The system is however periodically monitored by human experts, in order to increase long-term success ratio, and reduce traders’ risks.
There are currently 3 types of signal; 1 hour, 30 minute and 15 minute signals. The signals are displayed on your screen, allowing you a limited amount of time to evaluate the option and decide whether to invest or not.
From the moment the signal appears on the screen you have 5 minutes to act. If you decide to follow the signal and invest, simply enter the position with a given direction and set the expiry rate to the end of the hour.
Example: You received the following signal at 10:03: EUR/USD – CALL.
Place a Call trade on the EUR/USD and set the expiry for 11:00.
N.B. If you did not follow the signal within the first five minutes, it is strongly recommended that you disregard the information and don’t open that particular trade. Trading signals are devised mathematically and are acutely time sensitive. Asset prices react to new events and changes in the markets. The validity and relevance of each prediction can change significantly within a short time period.
30 Minute and 15 Minute Signals
30 Minute and 15 Minute Signals operate on exactly the same principal.
30 Minute Signal = 3 minutes to act = expiry on the 30th minute of the hour.
15 Minute Signal = 1.5 minutes to act = expiry on the 15th minute of the hour.
Every trading signal displays a colour coded ‘power level’ to indicate the likely reliability of the signal. Green denotes a high level of potential reliability, yellow shows less predictability. Statistically, traders can rely on ‘green signals’ over a long period of time. This doesn’t mean that other signals should be ignored. Less predictable options still present many potentially highly lucrative investment opportunities. Traders can benefit by placing an emphasis on fundamental analysis rather than technical analysis when evaluating these assets.
Signals are generally updated hourly on the widget. The exact frequency may depend on your account type.
During extreme, or highly unusual market conditions, the Faunus algorithmic model may consider trading too risky. During these rare periods there may be substantially fewer signals, or even no signals at all. This is something that currently only occurs a few times a year.
The current version of Trading Signals supports more than 60 of the most liquid and highly traded global assets.
A typical email bulletin accompanying a set of signals will contain between 7-10 recommended assets. Usually those assets are the most liquid and are considered to have the highest chance of yielding a profit.
The recommended assets in every set of signals (email, widget or SMS) will vary according to how they are rated by the Faunus algorithmic models at that particular time.
Trading Signals are not a magic online investment solution, but used effectively they are a very powerful trading tool. Intelligent and systematic use of Trading Signals can definitely enhance your trading and could substantially increase your profits.
We recommend that traders use at least 2-3 signals from each set of signals in every email /widget / SMS. Signals generated by algorithms do not reflect fundamental news and events. It’s prudent to diversify your trading. We also advise you to initially invest lower amounts on each signal, and analyse your statistics carefully.
It is impossible to say how much you will make with Trading Signals. Your investment profits depend on a combination of several different factors; including your own skill and judgement. Faunus algorithmic signals do achieve a successful prediction Ratio of between 55 and 65% on average. Skilful use of signals can boost your profits considerably.
Any form of investment contains an inherent element of risk; binary options are no different. An inaccurate prediction will result in the loss of the sum of money invested in that particular trade. With Faunus signals, the highest risk is the fundamental behaviour of assets, or an unexpected event changing the relevance of the original data. A thorough understanding of trading signals allows a higher degree of risk management when using the tool.
1. Faunus signals are particularly effective under conditions of high market volatility.
2. If a signals bulletin shows 2-4 correlated assets moving in the same direction (e.g. USD/JPY – CALL, USD/CHF – CALL, USD/GBP – CALL”), it’s an exceptionally strong indication of a firm trend. It is very rare for Faunus to give false indications in these circumstances.
3. Diversify your trading. Trade on the assets with the highest reliability level, and confirm the lower reliability signals with fundamental analysis and market news.
4. Start trading by investing smaller amounts on low reliability signals. Reserve higher investments for highly reliable assets.
